Texaco “Car of the Decades” Virtual Car Show Contest

Whether a stock collectible, a heavily modified street rod, a high-performance import or just your daily driver, Texaco is looking for all kinds of cool cars and the people who love them. With 11 categories starting with the 1903 founding of Texaco up to the 2000s, the “Car of the Decades” Virtual Car Show Contest has a category for everyone.

How does it work?

From July 25 to September 3, registrants can visit http://www.TexacoCaroftheDecades.com, enter their cars, post comments and choose their favorites. Then September 4 through October 5, registrants get to vote for their favorites. Once the decade winners are announced on October 8, they go before a panel of expert judges to determine the Grand Prize “Editor’s Choice” award.

Who are the judges?

A well-qualified roster to say the least: the editors of HotRod, Automobile and Street Rodder Magazines as well as racing legends Mario Andretti and Juan Pablo Montoya.

What are the Prizes?

One Grand Prize “Editor’s Choice” winner will receive:

  • Two all expenses paid VIP passes, travel, and accommodations and $500 spending money to see the Texaco/Havoline No. 42 car at Daytona 2008
  • A full-size customized and framed color painting of the winner's car by automotive artist Dwayne Vance
  • $500 Texaco Gift Card

Up to 10 First Prize winners will receive:

  • A customized and framed black and white rendering of the winner's car by Dwayne Vance
  • $250 Texaco Gift Card
